Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking a Senior Student Immigration Compliance & Advice Officer this Autumn 2024.

We are looking for a UKVI Student visa immigration specialist to run a small but dedicated CAS issuing team and support Birkbeck’s ambitions to grow our international student recruitment numbers.

As a compliance professional, you will be experienced in the issuing of Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) to incoming international students and be comfortable with implementing policy requirements into efficient customer-focused processes.

Situated within the International Student Administration team, you will manage two Compliance Officers and ensure that students are issued CAS in an efficient and high-quality manner.

You will have a proven ability to deal with both significant volumes during peak periods and develop professional relationships with stakeholders at a variety of levels. An excellent communicator you should be able to convey complex information to different audiences and have a passion for training colleagues.

The role involves very close working relationships with many teams across the University, including academic departments, Finance, External Relations and within Registry Services.

As Senior Student Immigration Compliance & Advice Officer, you will be part of a team that is focused on implementing frequently changing Government policies and ensuring the University maintains compliance, whilst also maximising recruitment from non-UK markets.

The ideal candidate will also have a desire to continue to develop professionally and take responsibility for maintaining a high level of UKVI compliance and general HE sector knowledge. Fluency with a wide variety of IT systems and ability to learn new skills and interfaces is essential.

ISA is a small and supportive team where clear and regular communication with all members is required. Those with a proactive approach to problem solving and a particular interest in all areas of international education are encouraged to apply.

This opportunity would build on experience as Senior Admissions Officers, or Student Immigration Compliance Officer roles. If this sounds like the job for you, apply with us today!

Salary and benefits:

£37,143 rising to £42,365 per annum, Grade 6 of the College's London Pay Scale, which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance that applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.

Birkbeck offers a competitive salary and pension scheme, 31 days paid leave, flexible working arrangements and some of the most generous benefits in the HE sector, all while being located right in the heart of Central London.

Contract:

Open-ended, permanent contract. Full-time (35 hours a week). Hybrid working offered. Please submit an Application form for consideration. Closing date: 6 October 2024, interview date: 7-9 October 2024. An enhanced DBS is required.
