Are you keen to work with students and teaching staff to support an excellent learning experience and student attainment? Do you have a strong customer service focus and administrative experience? Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking a Programme Administrator to join us in 2026. 

Birkbeck celebrated its 200th year and student experience is key to our next century. As Programme Administrator, within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, you will be part of a team supporting a diverse group of students and teaching staff in the delivery of academic programmes.

As Programme Administrator, you will work closely with academic staff, and other professional support staff, and will:

  • Support the delivery programmes of study, dealing effectively with college processes, systems and procedures.
  • Address student queries and concerns sympathetically and effectively, in all cases, following college policies and procedures to ensure a consistent and high-quality student experience.
  • Actively support student success and wellbeing, ensuring students have the resources and guidance they need.
  • Provide administrative support as well as supporting Faculty activities.

To be successful as a Programme Administrator, you will:

  • Be flexible and able to work independently and as part of a team on a variety of projects, using strong organisational skills.
  • Be able to work collaboratively and cultivate excellent working relationships.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and experience of administration, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Be comfortable using a variety of electronic systems (e.g. Microsoft Office 365, Teams, SITS student records, Moodle etc), although training will be provided.

This opportunity would build on experience as: Programme Officer, Research Degrees Officer, Course Administrator, Education Administrator.

Salary and benefits:

£31,234 rising to £34,827 per year, Grade 4 of the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance that applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.

Contract:
