Are you keen to work with students and teaching staff to support an excellent learning experience and student attainment? Do you have a strong customer service focus and administrative experience? Birkbeck, University of London, has an exciting vacancy for a Programme Administrator within the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences. 

As Programme Administrator you will be part of the Counselling Centre team, supporting a diverse group of students and teaching staff in the delivery of academic programmes.

As Programme Administrator your responsibilities will be to:

  • Support the delivery of modules and programmes of study - dealing effectively with College processes, systems and procedures
  • Deal with student queries and concerns sympathetically and effectively, in all cases, following College policies and procedures to ensure a consistent and high-quality student experience
  • Support student success and wellbeing
  • Provide administrative support and support faculty activities.

To be successful as Programme Administrator, you will:

  • Be flexible and able to work as part of a team on a variety of projects, using strong organisations skills
  • Be able to work collaboratively and cultivate excellent working relationships
  • Have excellent communication skills, attention to detail and experience of administration, preferably in an education setting
  • Be comfortable using a variety of electronic systems (e.g. Microsoft Office 365, Teams, SITS student records, Moodle etc), though training will be provided.

Remuneration

£11,756 rising to £13,185 per annum (actual). (Pro-rated 0.4/40% of £29,392 - £32,962 FTE). The salary, Grade 4, quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale. Birkbeck offers a competitive salary and pension scheme, 31 days paid leave, flexible working arrangements and some of the most generous benefits in the HE sector, all while being located right in the heart of Central London.
