Postdoctoral Researcher for EPSRC-funded research project “quantMD: Ontology-Based Management of Many-Dimensional Quantitative Data”.

We are seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Researcher for the new EPSRC-funded research project “quantMD: Ontology-Based Management of Many-Dimensional Quantitative Data", under the direction of Professor Michael Zakharyaschev within the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems. The project is joint with Professor Frank Wolter at University of Liverpool.

The successful applicant should have a PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline and research experience in logic in computer science (in particular: modal logic, temporal logic or description logic), mathematical logic, database theory, knowledge representation and reasoning or related areas. Your research tasks on the project will include developing and investigating new logic formalisms for representing knowledge about temporal quantitative data and designing efficient algorithms for query answering.

This is a full-time, fixed term post from 1 October 2019 to 30 September 2022.

Remuneration

Grade 7 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £37,912 -£43,333 per annum.

The salary quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the Greater London area.
