Birkbeck, University of London, has an opportunity for an IT & AV Support Specialist to join the team providing a high-quality, responsive support service to all staff and students.  

Our IT support specialists deliver front-line support for the deployment, maintenance and use of computers and classroom-based equipment to provide a high-quality, customer-focused experience.

As IT & AV Support Specialist, you will work in a team, on a shift-rota basis, to provide services from 8am to 10pm Monday to Friday, and weekends occasionally as may be required. You must have a strong self-motivated approach, with the ability to work at pace, and the competence to deliver a first-time fix for our Birkbeck users.

To succeed in this role, you should have significant previous experience of providing second-line support and working with specialist technical teams to provide solutions to our users, who are from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds and work in highly demanding environments.

Birkbeck will provide support and training on our IT systems, and development for you to build on and update your skills. However, a solid and demonstrable understanding of MS Windows and Networking (gained in a corporate environment) is essential. The support of audio-visual equipment in a classroom environment and experience of working in higher education would also be an advantage.

Salary and benefits:

£34,346 rising to £38,443 per annum, Grade 5 of the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated London Weighting Allowance. Birkbeck offers a competitive salary and pension scheme, 31 days paid leave, flexible working arrangements and some of the most generous benefits in the HE sector, all while being located right in the heart of Bloomsbury, Euston, London.

Contract:
