Are you an experienced security supervisor ready to take the next step in your career? Do you thrive on leading teams, managing incidents, making critical decisions and delivering exceptional customer service?

Join us as Duty Manager (Campus Experience & Security - Day) and play a key role in creating a safe, secure and welcoming environment for our diverse campus community. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time contract (35 hours per week) with five shifts across seven days, including weekends. Shifts operate on a rota between am and pm patterns, covering core hours between 7am - 11pm

As Duty Manager, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of campus security operations, helping to create a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

You will provide visible leadership to the daytime security team, ensuring high standards of service, professionalism and operational performance.

You will manage rotas and staffing, oversee control room operations, coordinate incident response and support the safe delivery of campus events.

Working closely with the Facilities Manager (Campus Experience & Security), you will contribute to service improvements, staff development and compliance with security, health and safety and data protection requirements. You will also support the implementation of Martyn's Law (Terrorism Protection of Premises Act 2025)

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience supervising or leading a security team.
  • Experience responding to incidents and coordinating emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of security operations, risk assessment and compliance requirements.
  • Confidence using CCTV, access control and incident reporting systems.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions.
  • A current SIA Door Supervisor and CCTV licence, or willingness to obtain one.

Salary and benefits

£34,827 rising to £38,981 per annum, Grade 5 on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated London Weighting

Contract

Permanent, full-time contract (35 hours per week) - 5 shifts across 7 days, including weekends. Shifts operate on a rota between am and pm patterns, covering core hours between 7am - 11pm. Occasional opportunity to work compressed shifts, subject to requirements. Appointment/confirmation in the role will be subjects of completion of SIA licence training, including DBS check.
