Demonstrator - Mathematics for Computing

Birkbeck, University of London, has an excellent opportunity for a Demonstrator on Mathematics for Computing to join the teaching team, and support the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences this Autumn 2026. 

You will have knowledge in discrete mathematics, specifically: 

• Basic graph theory and algorithms 
• Basic set Theory 
• Basic elations/Functions 

with a basic ability to reason about these topics. 

This is a part-time contract working 6 hours a week on Mondays: 1pm – 4pm and 6pm – 9pm from October to December 2026.

Salary:

Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £24.55 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 6, which covers preparation, teaching, administration, and other examining duties in connection with the course. 

Contract:
