Computer Services Analyst
Experienced desktop computing professional with ideas and great interpersonal skills wanted by top university computer science department.
You will have responsibility for 100+ personal computer desktops (windows and linux) used by lecturers, researchers and administrative staff. You will also manage the desktops in the student computing labs (140 windows PCs) with specialist software for programming, data analysis, web development & machine learning. Your general support duties will include solving user support queries and liaising with other Birkbeck staff and external organisations, so excellent inter-personal skills are essential.
To succeed in this role you must be methodical and systematic in your approach to solving problems that crop up in a busy Computer Science department and which users present to you. An analytical mind coupled with a pragmatic attitude will also help. You need to work quickly and accurately and provide concise feedback to students, staff & colleagues and document your work for reference. If you can demonstrate these qualities through your track record then we want to hear from you.
Grade 7 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £38,594 rising to £44,113 per annum.
The salary quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
