Are you a passionate Chef De Partie looking to elevate your culinary career? Join Birkbeck, University of London, where you will play a pivotal role in our dynamic kitchen team.

As a Chef De Partie at Birkbeck Catering, you will assist and deputise for the Head Chef and Sous Chef, contributing to the preparation, cooking, and service of high-quality food and beverages.

As a Chef De Partie, you will:

  • Assist with food production, ensuring it meets agreed standards and volumes.
  • Lead and train junior kitchen team members, contributing to their development.
  • Improve the quality, presentation, and service delivery of our food and beverage offerings.
  • Support the Head Chef in the smooth running of the kitchen, including communication and stock management.
  • Take responsibility for day-to-day food production tasks and guide junior and front-of-house team members.

We are looking for a Chef De Partie who:

  • Has knowledge of high-volume food production in a commercial catering environment.
  • Is experienced in product purchasing systems, stock control, and HACCP.
  • Is excited about food innovation and implementing new catering offers.
  • Demonstrates sector-relevant skills at the Chef De Partie level.
  • Holds a professional cookery or relevant vocational experience.
  • Possesses a Food Hygiene and relevant Health & Safety certification.

Salary and benefits:

£29,392 rising to £32,962 per annum, Grade 4 of the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance that applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.

Contract:
