Your role will be to deliver teaching to Birkbeck students, in order to enable them to complete their studies successfully, and to undertake all related course administrative duties as required.
Your main responsibility will be preparation, teaching, administration and assessment of the second half of the Quantitative Research Methods module, which is a Level 5 module offered as a compulsory part of our BPS-accredited BSc Psychology programme.
This module focuses on experimental design and analysis centred on ANOVA. It covers one-way and factorial designs (between-, within- and mixed-subjects), interpreting main effects and interactions, planned contrasts and post-hoc comparisons with appropriate multiple-comparison control, assumption checks (normality, homogeneity/sphericity) and corrections, effect sizes and power, and clear reporting/visualisation of results. Full materials for all lectures will be provided.
As an Associate Lecturer, you will be working closely with the module convenors to organise, deliver and assess the module.
The module requires 10 teaching sessions which are 3 hours each. These will be delivered on Monday either in the afternoons from 2pm to 5pm or evenings from 6pm to 9 pm during the Spring term (January to March) according to a pre-defined teaching schedule (teaching is shared with the module convenors).
